Cayla on Christmas Morning, Santa came!!

Baby's First Christmas

Santa thought I was a good girl

Santa visited mommy a little early this year when Cayla took her first crawling steps on Christmas eve. It is so sweet to see her growing and changing. She has developed quite a little personality. Very much a girl who knows what she wants and if she doesn't get it, will be more than happy to scream till she does.

John did not take Cayla for the pre Christmas weekend. He only had Zane. Then he balked at bringing him back so I was glad that he didn't have the baby too. He only saw her briefly. It was not a good day for mom. But Zane came back okay so I guess that it all turned out well.

Cayla loved opening presents. She really only wanted to eat the paper though. One day she had told Zane and I that she wanted "a dah" which we took to mean a doll. She got three. When Zane opened one of them, she clapped her hands. Very cute. She smiles all the time and is pretty easy going. She eats a lot. I think that more teeth are coming in. Boy I can't believe how much she is growing. Nearly nine months old!! Wow.

I am going to try to post a picture from Christmas morning. Melissa has been doing all the photo posting so I am hoping for the best.

Happy New Year to All!! May 2007 be the best year ever for all of you.

To Lubbock and Back

One more trip

Today I took Cayla back to Lubbock for her regularly scheduled post surgical appt. Sissa (Melissa), and Nina (Sissa's mom)went with us. It made the trip so much better to have someone along for the ride. Cayla got a little fussy so it was really great to have the entertainment with us.

We were able to see both doctors today. The first doc said she looks great and he thought the bump might be a little smaller. But he wanted us to see the other doctor too. 2nd Doc said he thinks that it will get better over time. He said the bump may be a part of the plate in there and that it will resorb. He also said that the temporal muscle can build back up. So he was pleased with her overall. We go back in March and will see both docs again. It will be nice not to make that trip so often.

We got to see Grandma Connie ( a really good friend) today too. She and her husband lived in Abilene for a while and really took us under their wings. It was great to see her. I think Sissa got a good snap and maybe we can get it posted.

So now I just have to get a tree up, and presents wrapped and wait for santa. I can't believe he will arrive in a week. Even bigger news is that Cayla's dad is back in Texas. He got transferred to San Angelo. So he plans to see the kids now. He is going to have them over the weekend and bring them back for Christmas morning. Santa will stop at my house.

Merry Christmas to all. May God give you peace, love, comfort and joy in the coming year and especially during the holiday season.

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth

Wish Granted

Cayla is 8 months old and I can already tell she is going to be my active child. She is also quite the little "the world revolves around ME" child. But she must be pretty good because Santa visited her early.

She turned 8 months on this past Monday and then on Tuesday her first tooth magically appeared. Well after weeks of fussy chewing everything time, the tooth magically appeared. Then on Friday the second one popped up. It is a good thing she asked Santa for those teeth. Now I don't have to worry about shopping for her.

The teeth are so cute. Barely poking up from those bottom gums. Of course I can't get a photo of them. She covers them with her tongue every time I try to get a good look. I will just have to catch her unaware.

She is finally sitting up good. She still lists to the side a little, but is pretty straight most of the time. Her new trick is to get up on her hands and knees and then straighten her legs out so she is standing with her hands down, like she is playing bridge. Too funny. She gets frustrated because she can move her legs, but hasn't figured out how to get her hands out of the way. She sort of lurches forward.

Christmas is just around the corner and I bet she loves it. She already knows how to rip paper!! Then she eats it! All those tasty treats on the floor will dazzle her I bet.
